Annual Meeting/ Board Elections

The annual Meeting of First Castle Federal Credit Union will be held Friday, January 11th, 2013 from 6:00 PM to 6:30 PM in the lobby of the Covington facility, 100 Cherokee Rose Lane, Covington, LA.  All members are invited to attend. The annual meeting will concentrate on the business of the credit union and light refreshments will be served.  Please bring a valid driver’s license, state ID, or other form of valid identification.

Election of the Board of Directors: The Board of Directors appoints a nominating committee which is charged with naming at least one nominee for each vacancy.  There will be three vacancies and the nominating committee has nominated three incumbents for those positions (see biographies below).The election will not be conducted by ballot and there will be no nominations from the floor when the number of nominees equals the number of positions to be filled.

A member of the credit union may be nominated by petition.  A valid petition must contain the signatures and account numbers of at least 1% of the total membership and who are in good standing with the credit union, and must be delivered to the Secretary of the Board of Directors.  A brief biography outlining his or her qualifications to serve as a director must also be attached which will be then communicated to the rest of the membership.  Nominees must be at least 18 years of age.  Additionally, the petition must be accompanied by a signed certificate from the nominee stating that he or she is agreeable to the nomination and will serve.  The petition must be received by the credit union by November 21st, 2012.

Steve Patorno – “I have been a member of the Board of Directors for FCFCU for 13 years. I presently serve as Chairman. Previous to my board position I served as chairman of the supervisory committee for 5 years. I have been employed by the New Orleans District Corps of Engineers for 27 years and am currently the Chief of Technical Support Section. I have a wife, a son and daughter. I welcome the opportunity to continue serving on the board.”

Bruce Bivona – “I have been a member of the Board of Directors of FCFCU for approximately 13 years. Previous to my board position I served as head of the supervisory committee for one year and as a member of the credit committee for approximately 5 years. I have been employed by the New Orleans District Corps of Engineers for 33 years and have been serving as Chairman of the Recreation & Activities Council for 18 years. I have two sons and I actively participate in their school functions and playground activities and events. I welcome the opportunity to continue serving on the board.”

Valerie Desselles – “I have been a member of the Board of Directors of FCFCU for approximately 5 months.  Previous to my board position, I served as the Supervisory Committee Chair for 1.5 years and as a member of the Supervisory Committee for 1 year.  I have been employed by the New Orleans District Corps of Engineers for 15.5 years.  I have one daughter and I actively participate in her school functions and extra-curricular activities and events.  I welcome the opportunity to continue to serve on the board.”
