Cost of Eating Healthy to Rise

Several weeks into 2013, and several weeks into those New Year’s Resolutions. How are yours going for you? However, if one of your New Year’s Resolutions was to get healthy, it may be more expensive in 2013. Winter produce grown in California was devastated by cold weather, which means produce prices are rapidly rising. Almost all fresh winter vegetables – including lettuce, broccoli, cauliflower, artichokes – are grown in Southern California and Arizona. Prices have tripled on some of these ingredients because of a cold snap, and it may take a few months for them to drop. You can read more about this HERE.
